AIR NZ Q300

New livery painting masks.

The task was to create painting masks for the new Air New Zealand livery for the Q300 aircraft.

Distorted shapes created on 3D CAD surfaces needed to be cut from paper and applied to the actual Q300 aircraft as painting masks.

As 3D surface models were not available, we created the surfaces from blueprints. Having the surfaces, we projected the new livery onto the plane. The painting masks were then unwrapped from the surface allowing the distorted shapes to be cut from paper and applied to the actual Q300 aircraft for painting.
