After the final concept presentation, MWDesign will focus on the approved product concept. This will be done primarily through 3D CAD modelling. We will further development the CAD models into precise components incorporating all features from the final concept design. The objective is to develop the design to allow us to create a prototype for testing, before investing in tooling.
Focusing on individual part components, MWDesign will refine the components and design out the cost to enable us to maintain quality while meeting our budget cost. We will begin engineering the parts for the product, focusing on functional aspects of the design.

Anago a120
Anago a120 Trimmer Sharpness Tester
Anago's a120 is MWDesign's second major product redesign for the company. Anago are widely recognised as world leaders in industrial knife-sharpness testing equipment, used to test everything from scalpels, pocket knives and industrial meat processing plants throughout the globe.
The redesign and refresh of the a120 includes a more user-friendly interface, improved accuracy, and a streamlined design with a touch-screen display, allowing users to quickly and easily interact with the device.
The redesign provides a more intuitive graphical interface, making it easier to interpret the results of the sharpness tests. Through our design process, we were able to improve accuracy and simplify the design, making it easier to build, use, transport and store.
The a120 is designed to be easy to use, accurate and cost effective. It is suitable for use in the laboratory or in the production line, and is capable of providing reliable results in a fraction of the time when compared with traditional methods. The a120 is also designed to be extremely durable and reliable, making it an ideal choice for testing blades in harsh industrial environments.
The a120 is a versatile testing tool that can be used for a wide range of applications, including blade sharpness testing, blade wear testing, blade edge geometry testing and blade balance testing across a range of blades of different sizes and shapes.
