COMPONENT DESIGN FOR ASSEMBLY
After the final concept presentation, MWDesign will focus on the approved product concept. This will be done primarily through 3D CAD modelling. We will further development the CAD models into precise components incorporating all features from the final concept design. The objective is to develop the design to allow us to create a prototype for testing, before investing in tooling.
Focusing on individual part components, MWDesign will refine the components and design out the cost to enable us to maintain quality while meeting our budget cost. We will begin engineering the parts for the product, focusing on functional aspects of the design.

Intaks Componentry Design
INTAKS is renowned for its innovative scaffolding systems that prioritise efficiency without sacrificing safety. Our collaboration with INTAKS has led to the development of new components designed to enhance their product range. Here’s a look at some of the key additions:
Hop Up Bracket:
This component is an aluminium bar with angled rib supports, designed to attach to the vertical INTAKS standards. It provides additional support for planks, expanding the walkway area. The hop-up bracket features a slot and pin mechanism for quick and secure attachment, ensuring stability and ease of use.
Aluminium Toeboard Clamp:
We’ve developed a new aluminium toeboard clamp, which integrates with the existing polymer design toeboard clip. Our updated clamp, crafted from aluminium extrusion, offers cost-effective manufacturing and enhanced durability. It features an injection-moulded nylon double-threaded butterfly bolt and nutsert for efficient fastening, allowing for quicker and more reliable attachment to the planks.
Toeboard Corner Clamp:
The toeboard corner clamp utilizes the same advanced butterfly bolt and nutsert system for securely joining two perpendicular toeboards. Constructed with welded aluminium extrusion sections and a supporting L bracket, it ensures a robust and stable connection at corners.
Toeboard Sleeve Clamp:
Designed with the same extrusion profile as the corner clamp, the toeboard sleeve clamp offers efficient cost savings and functionality. It enables the clamping of two parallel toeboards at varying heights, facilitating a smooth transition in toeboard edging.
These new components reflect INTAKS commitment to enhancing scaffold safety and efficiency, reliable performance on every job site.
